On 3 June 2026, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved a Rs 9,585 crore two-year scheme to replace approximately 2.07 lakh old BS-IV and older commercial vehicles (trucks and buses) in the Delhi-NCR region with BS-VI compliant or Electric Vehicles (EVs). The initiative aims to tackle vehicular pollution and improve air quality in one of the world's most polluted urban regions.

दिल्ली-NCR वाहन प्रतिस्थापन योजना (Hindi)

3 जून 2026 को केंद्रीय कैबिनेट ने दिल्ली-NCR क्षेत्र में 2.07 लाख पुराने BS-IV और उससे पुराने ट्रक और बसों को BS-VI या इलेक्ट्रिक वाहनों से बदलने के लिए ₹9,585 करोड़ की दो वर्षीय योजना को मंजूरी दी। इसका उद्देश्य वाहन प्रदूषण कम करना और क्षेत्र की वायु गुणवत्ता सुधारना है। योजना की फंडिंग NCRPB के जरिए होगी और इसे MoRTH और MoPNG मिलकर लागू करेंगे। केंद्र सरकार 5% ब्याज अनुदान और हर महीने ₹4,800 तक के ईंधन वाउचर देगी।

4. BrahMos Missile Export Deal with Vietnam | ब्रह्मोस मिसाइल निर्यात समझौता

India has signed a strategic deal worth approximately ₹5,800 crore (USD 629 million) to export BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles to Vietnam. The announcement was confirmed by Indian Defence Secretary at the prestigious Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore. A similar export agreement with Indonesia was also reported to be in the pipeline. BrahMos is a joint venture between India's DRDO and Russia's NPO Mashinostroyeniya. It is one of the world's fastest supersonic cruise missiles with a speed of around Mach 2.8–3.
